Dynamic DNS that doesn't expire your hostname
Holdfast DDNS keeps your dynamic public IP pointed at your hostname — without 30-day confirmation emails, ads, or account nags.

Why people switch from No-IP and other free DDNS providers
No monthly confirmation emails. Free DDNS services make you click a "confirm you still want this hostname" email every 30 days. Miss one on vacation and your hostname is deleted — every camera config, NAS app, and router setting pointing at it breaks silently. Holdfast hostnames live as long as your subscription does. Pay once a year and forget it exists.
Works with what you already have
Holdfast speaks the standard dyndns2 protocol — the same interface No-IP, DuckDNS, and Dyn built their ecosystems on. If your equipment has a DDNS page or client, it works:
- Router built-in DDNS: MikroTik, pfSense, OPNsense, ASUS, TP-Link, Synology, QNAP
- Linux clients: ddclient, inadyn
- Anything else that speaks dyndns2 (IP cameras, NAS boxes, Raspberry Pis)
- No proprietary client to install — or use a plain URL:

Built for remote access to your own machines
Typical Holdfast setups people use it for:
- Plex or Jellyfin while traveling — your media server hostname never expires
- NAS remote access — Synology, QNAP, or a home-built file server
- Home lab — reach your Proxmox boxes, Home Assistant, and dashboards
- IP cameras and NVRs — stable names for cams on a residential connection
- Family tech support — a hostname for a box at a relative's house you never have to re-check
Security by default
- TOTP 2FA on every account (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password) with one-time recovery codes
- Per-hostname update tokens — your dashboard password never lives in your router
- No ads, no tracking, no selling data — you're the customer, not the product
- Paid accounts only — keeps the domain off the blocklists that free DDNS domains land on
Your own third-level domain
Don't want myserver.holdfastdns.com? For +$2/yr you get your own third-level — yourbrand.holdfastdns.com — so your hostnames read like a real domain you control.
It's a real DNS zone, not just a name. Add your own records — TXT for domain verification (Google, Microsoft, etc.) or SPF, MX if you run mail, CNAME for pointing sub-names at other services, plus A/AAAA for hosts your DDNS client doesn't cover. Your dynamic hostnames keep updating automatically; client updates always take priority over manual entries.
